Isaac’s 19th Birthday

Hehe, so this is what we did for Isaac’s Birthday. I think what the drink is called isn’t very good… if you’re really interested go find out. But anyway, we were drinking shots of Kahlua and 151 Proof Bacardi Rum (yes the one that’s 75% Alcohol) lit on fire. SAWEEETTT. It actually tasted good! That Bacardi tastes really good too. I took a shot of it by itself, except it burns on the way down. Hehe. Anyway enjoy the video! Oh and drink moderately (Nobody got drunk while making this video. HONEST!).

PS: My scream that got cut of in the end there was me expressing how gooood the drink was. It just surprised me, at least how easily it came down, because the first shot of bacardi I took hurt coming down, hehe… I only had 1 more shot after this… I wasn’t even woozy!

Election Day…

Phew, it’s finally here… Election Day. Ok So I’m a little nervous… Got a big job ahead of me. Uhm. Wow I can’t believe it’s been so long since I blogged. This week has been a blur. What with, this crazy weather here (meaning I hardly went to school… hehe) and uhh.. doing nothing. Actually I did go to a few classes, but on Tuesday evening, I skipped because I wasn’t feeling too well, but most importantly, because there was freezing rain. No driving downtown in that weather.

OK this is getting boring.. that’s cause my life is boring. Plus something else took my attention (apperantly, Albertans are getting $400… Man if I moved there 2 years ago like I was planning too…. bleh). So. Hmm. Just one quote and I’m done…

(Background) At new comers class today, we were talking about baptism which of course for Christians is a big issue. Anyway, Pastor John was trying to make a point about how baptism doesn’t save you….

“If I believed that baptism saves, I’d be going around with a hose… In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!” – John Mahaffey

Oh and he also was talking about something that’s really important to me regarding the election campaign, but in the interest of not showing any party biases (I’m sure Pastor John wasn’t himself being biased… in fact he’s been doing a good job at urging people at church to vote without being biased, but it can be construed as that…) I’ll wait until after the elections to post it… Horay!

Not used to it…

Ahgh.. Ok I got all of my grades already… 56 in Music! Arrr. My over all mark was a 70 or a 2.7(rough estimations based on final marks of my half-year courses, and mid-term marks of my full-year courses). Of course Greek isn’t included because that would just take it down.

Anyway, I have a plan… dropping Greek helped alot, that’s a whole point raise… Taking ComSci at UTSC will help out a lot too, which means that all I need to do is just keep up my current grades in Religion and PoliSci or do a little better to keep up that 2.7 and even get it up to a 3.0…

Oh and, sick… I got a 70 on my Religion Quiz… I wan’t expecting that at all!

Fun. Anyway, back to my book… Band Of Brothers.

Hayah…

So I too a “nap” yesterday around 5PM. That’s because me and the guys stayed up all night… again… playing Settlers of Catan. LOL. I’ve been pulling too many all-nighters since I dropped James off at the Airport 2 weeks ago (we had to leave at 5AM so we didn’t bother sleeping). Then I dropped my parents off at the Airport (4AM this time). Then after that, my days and nights were mixed up…

Anyway, that’s college life. Hehe. What else has happened. Quite a bit in the last week. Uhm, there’s my parents going to the Philippines, I think I mentioned this already, meaning I’m home all alone (yay!). Then I had to drop Greek last week, cause it was gonna mess up my GPA… I picked up CSCA02 though… hehe “The Whys and Hows of Computing”. If I don’t get a 90 in that course, I’m extremely stupid.

Oh yes, and I’m also a Deputy Returning Officer for the elections on the 23rd. Wholly unexpected, I just signed up to be a Poll Clerk (at least I think I did). It’s a cool opportunity though, cause I’m going to be right in there, a pretty important part in the voting process. Good stuff to know about, specially being a Politics student and all. Oh and not to mention the pay… But of courwe now, I can’t show any party biases any longer. Which make sense to me – Elections officials, for obvious reasons, should be unbiased. So I’ve had to shut down my “Chris on Politics” blog.

Hmph. I think that’s all I have to say for now. Gonna eat some breakfast now.

verse Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boast boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord. - Jeremiah 9:23-24

It begins…

Degradation of Society

I think it was one of my teachers at Capernwray that I was talking to about this topic. It was during that period in time when Same-Sex Marriage was hotly being debated… Well not at my school of course, it was a Bible School after all. But it was still being discussed.

He (or She… I don’t remember who it was exactly) told me that the result or well, the cause, of passing a law allowing same-sex marriage is the degradation of society: the complete moral bankruptcy that that ultimately, our society will spiral down to. It began with divorce, then graduated to Same-Sex Marriage, and will eventually lead first to Polygamy, then to child marriages, and ultimately to bestiality (intercourse with animals). This next step (Polygamy) was in fact recognized at the time as the next step to “liberating” the social rights of all moral views in our society. There were a series of articles about Polygamy (specifically about a Mormon Commune somewhere in British Columbia).

This (at least the first step) is proving to be true. The Toronto Start today published an article with the headline: “Study Urges Repeal of Canada’s Polygamy Law”. It is an article about a study written for the Federal Justice department regarding the Canadian Law banning Polygamy. In the article, it states this:

Chief author Martha Bailey says criminalizing polygamy, typically a marriage involving one man and several wives, serves no good purpose and prosecutions could do damage to the women and children in such relationships.
“Why criminalize the behaviour?” she said in an interview. “We don’t criminalize adultery.” (01/12/06, http://www.thestar.com/)

Good arguments, I suppose. Here is the kicker: (still Martha Bailey) “In light of the fact that we have a fairly permissive society . . . why are we singling out that particular form of behaviour for criminalization?”

So we have a permissive society. Couldn’t the argument be made then to allow adults to marry children, or for that matter, for children marry each other? Our permissive society allows for most of our children to mature much earlier in life anyway. Hey I’m a Camp Counselor. I know what these kids know even at such young ages. Going further, is it such a stretch to decriminalize bestiality… we have such a permissive society, what’s the harm in that?

I’d like to think of this as an “I told you scenario” as in… see I told you that if you passed same-sex marriage legislation, that this is what’s going to happen next. But what would it matter? This same degradation of morality in our society that allowed same-sex marriages in the first place is the same that will allow polygamy, and believe me… eventually… bestiality. Sad.

Ridiculous

squares
I know this picture won’t make sense to a lot of people. But to those it does make sense to, yeah that’s right 242 squares. LOL. It’s actually more sad than amazing. I slept through a class this morning (actually slept through it… I didn’t wake up till 10AM). Then I slept through work too (the rhetorical “slept through” this time). But the shift was only 4 hours long and I was home bright and early by 3:30PM… And voila. This is what I do with my life. LOL!

Oh amazing, I didn’t think this much time was actually possible. 9 Hours of classes and max 12 hours of work per week. I almost don’t know what to do with my life!

Oh yeah. 2 new purchases. Ok well, 1 was mine, 1 was my dad’s. Mine was Settlers of Cataan… Ok it’s just a board game, but it’s a 60 dollar board game. I FINALLY got my friends into it. Hehe. We stayed up all Monday night to play (3 games of Cataan, and 1 game of Monopoly.. LOL). Hey. We were just. uhh. you know. reliving the past. like when we were 8. Josh won monopoly and I didn’t win one Cataan game… Stupid Emman and Josh, they were teaming up on me. The next day, err. a coupla hours after we finished playing, we picked up Isaac from school, then came back to my house again. Another game of Cataan. Wedding Crashers. Tacos. And that was my Tuesday! Oh and I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose after they all went home. Good movie. I was expecting a little more horror, but I like all the trial stuff. Then we’re back to this morning, when I slept through class and work…

Anyway, the second purchase, my dad’s, is a new wireless router. HORAY! Linksys. The good kind this time. LOL. All my server issues are fixed in like 30 seconds. And now I can even upload to Yahoo Photos! Ahhh.. this is the life.

Oh yeah, and of course my parents are in the Philippines right now. My bro is in BC. So I’ve got the house all to myself…. Hehe.
