Something on Politics…
Posted by: in Blogger on April 28th, 2006
Just a little aside from.. well, my life… to comment on some political matters. All I want to say is simply this, all you Canadians out there who still haven’t figured out that the Liberals are out and the Conservatives are in need a reality check. The Liberals are out and the Conservatives are in. That means that a majority of Canadians chose the Conservatives, and thus the platform that they ran on.
On the matter of Childcare… Everyone who’s still holding on to Martin’s childcare plans are stupid. Just stupid. Learn to frigging read properly. This lady emailed in to cp24 obviously not knowing what she was talking about… obviously more anti-conservative than actually concerned about the state of child care in Canada. Frig. I wanna move back to BC… or better yet, I’m gonna move to Alberta. Haven’t you stupid liberals figured it out yet? Alberta – out of debt… giving money back to its residents… no provincial taxes… oh and fully conservative. I think that says something…
Bleh. I’m just tired…. bleh…
Meh…

I’m just going to forget what I did the past coupla days so I’m gonna write it now… But I’m still not going to write anything “profound” hehe…
Anyway, last time I posted was last Tuesday the 18th. That would mean that the next day, on Wednesday, I was most likely studying (either that or I was sleeping… or watching tv… LOL now that school’s over, I dunno what to do with myself). Thursday, I was working, and same with Friday. Saturday I was supposed to work, but I had an exam… I woke up around 9AM and started reading a little bit. But Isaac has the textbook (we share it cause I was too cheap to buy it…). So we met up… actually I picked him up and we went to study at school… We got there around 11AM or something… And at around 12 Noon, we met up with Kenway and this girl, whose name I still don’t know, to continue studying… The exam was… uh, alright, except I think I’m gonna have to drop out of university. This exam is for the Computer Science course that I have… which is basically a repeat of most of the things I learned in grade 12… Ok so that was 3 years ago already, but confident as I was in my own abilities in ComSci, I declared in January that if I get bel 80 in this course, that I’m going to drop out of University… Well I have a term mark of 85, which, out of the 55% that it’s worth in my final mark, 46.8… Which means that to meet that 80% requirement, I’m going to need 33.2 on the exam, or… roughly 73.8% And yeah, well I don’t really expect to get that.
Anyway, after the exam was Anthony’s party, which actually turned out alright. It was pretty good, especially after H2O came… But even before that, the roundtable thing that me, Jv, Josh and Eric were having was pretty cool. Enough that I want to start a weekly thing going with the College kids of TGIF… (we’ll be meeting during school hours so high school kids can’t go). It’s been a while since we’ve actually had a bible study, so I guess this is a good way to start again.
Sunday was as usual… I was in the 9AM service, then I went to have lunch with Josh and Joseph V. Afterward, they went back to Joseph’s house to work on a VB assignment that Joseph had… I wanted to stay but then I had Orchestra where I picked up 3 new songs for our last sunday. After orchestra, I went home to relax for a bit, before I had to go to Trec… Yeah that’s quite a full Sunday. Yesterday (Monday) was an official lazy day for me. After that weekend that is… I woke up at noon, and proceeded to do nothing the rest of the day (except for a little bit of programming that I did). Today, I actually did some studying… Which began with a long time of organizing my notes for my last two exams. Then me, Josh and Emman hung out for a coupla hours before I had to go to work…
Ok that’s all.
Purposely…
Posted by: in Blogger on April 19th, 2006
Well I’ve been purposely putting off blogging, at first until after the Easter Weekend, cause I had a bunch of things to do/prepare for… but now I think I’m going to extend that ’till after my exams… But before that, so I don’t forget what I’d been doing since the last time I posted…
Actually I’ve already forgotten most of it, since it’s been almost 2 weeks… Oh yeah, I do remember that I wrote as my title for that post (April 5th), Pamplona, Spain, and I started talking about stupid commercials and good commercials, but I never talked about why I wrote Pamplona Spain as my title… Well that’s cause I wrote that post after I watched this commercial about… I forget what the card is exactly, but it’s a travel-points thing… Oh! That’s it, the Avion Card by RBC… Anyway, the comercial shows this guy running through the streets of Pamplona, and well, basically, he’s acting like he’s doing that running with the bulls thing that they do there, except there are no bulls. The punchline is that other travel-points have blackout days and crap like that, that won’t let you get to the things you want to do, but th Avion card doesn’t… Anyway, I thought that was a hillarious commercial, which prompted me to write that whole post..
Ok, that was a Wednesday, which means on that thursday and friday, I most likely went to work. I’m pretty sure that that Saturday was Joseph’s (Villanueva) birthday party which was at his house. That was pretty fun, we watched Ong Bak 2… That Sunday was Orchestra, which was pretty important for me cause I missed the week before. Worst of all (and I didn’t realize this until later), Rob’s (conductor) brother (soloist for one of the songs) was there to rehearse his song, which I hadn’t reheared myself in a while. After the 9 AM service, I went and had lunch with Joe, where we were working on his paper. We went back to the church after the 11AM service, where they had a toonie lunch. I was about to go grab some (yeah, I didn’t eat that much.. it was at wendy’s, plus the toonie lunch was really good), but I noticed that the whole choir was still there, and that’s when I found out that I had to play that song, and a bunch of others that the choir was gonna be there for. Well I freaked out at that… not that I really mind making mistakes in front of people that much during rehearsals. But before when I make mistakes during rehearsals, we can just stop and start again… and there’s also only like 5-10 people in the worship team to worry about. But the Churchill Orchestra and Choir has over 100 members, which is even more than the attendance at most churches I played on the worship team for… Anyway, so I practiced for a half hour or whatever before the rehearsal started…
Monday (we’re up to the 10th now), was my last PoliSci class. That was pretty cool… oh, when I say class, I mean tutorial, cause I don’t really go to the lectures… anyway, I noticed that this year, I have really good TA’s, who I actually listen to more than the lecturers. Except for Oktie, my ComSci TA… He’s not the greatest… but then again, that whole course is pretty dumb. But yeah, my Religion TA is great, and so is Igor, my PoliSci TA.. and he says that we were his favourite TA section, and we got a picture taken together too.
Tuesday was my last class for Religion, which was kinda stupid. Meaning, I went there to hear the same information twice (my Tutorial was right after the Lecture, and I only caught the back end of the lecture when they were talking about the exam)… So yeah, that was a waste of time, but meh, whatever.
Wednesday, was the final dress rehearsal for Easter Weekend… 3 hours of rehersals for 4 services. By the way, the parts of the days I don’t talk about are spent either eating, sleeping or studying (meaning.. reading). Thursday I was at work… which was eh… long. Friday was Good Friday, so that was the first two services that I played it. It went pretty good, not big mistakes or anything. And Pastor John’s message was great… I especially liked it after what I had read in Blue Like Jazz (more on that later… that’s the post I’m purposely postponing, because I want time to actually read it). Saturday, I was at work most of the day.. which means I missed the Delirious concert. Which doesn’t matter, cause I later found out that no one even went to it. It was crazy busy too… which meant the store was trashed afterward, but at least I didn’t have to stay the entire 2 hours to clean (store closed at 7PM, my shift ended at 8PM, the cleaning at 9PM)… Sunday was the last 2 services for Easter Weekend, which was alright too, except for the major mistake of the orchestra on uhh.. I actually forget the song… Oh, We Fall Down. We forgot to key change. Which meant Pastor Dave and the Choir keychanged to the wrong key (well it was the right key except like… 1/4 of a semitone off). So when the orchestra finally got to the right key, we were off… So I think Pastor Dave stopped the choir, then Rob stopped the orchestra and they did the rest of the song accapella. So it turned out alright. The second service went better, which means no major mistakes like that (I make mistakes all the time anyway)…
Ok… Almost done. Hmph. Monday (yesterday… or well, 2 days ago now), after sleeping in, I went to school to do some studying. I did a bit, which was alright… the most important of studying that I did was watching the 2 movies that I missed in my ComSci class… I had to take pretty extensive notes on it too, cause Isaac hasn’t watched the movies still, and plans to write the exam without doing so. Anyway, that took up most of my time there (the movies were 50 mins each, but it took me almsot 4 hours to watch them, with all the pausing and replaying). I feel pretty good about that exam now… Tuesday, I did some pretty cool stuff… It started with dropping my mom, off at her volunteer place… then I watched My Date With Drew, which was a pretty cool movie. In fact, I like it so much I feel like making a movie of my own… a small one of course.. I wanna make it about my summer… but yeah, that’s another one of the thigns i’m waiting to post on. After the movie, I went to Scarborough Town Centre to check out the Dell shop they got there so I can check out the TV Tuners… yet another thing I’m waiting to post on… Then I went to Best Buy to compare. I don’t plan to buy a new computer till after my first few paycheques in the summer, but yeah, good to be informed on it. After Bestbuy, I went to Josh’s house where me and Isaac… uhh.. kinda studied for a bit. I didn’t stay all that long there, when me and Josh decided to go to Emman’s. On my way, I stopped by home depot to run some of those errands my dad’s been asking me to do for a week… actually it’s only one, getting a new faucet head thing… I also got some silicone lubricant for the rubik’s cubes.. which was pretty amazing. It actually worked so now we have a bunch of really good cubes, including a rubik’s revenge cube (4×4x4). We spent a coupla hours on that (it wasn’t all working on the cubes…) it was such a nice day that we spent most of it outside. We were also messing around with Emman’s magnifying glass, trying to burn wood, newspaper and stuff (and ants). Then we had some ice cream and were just talking for a bit. it was pretty great, but then I had to leave to go to work. That was ny first shift with the City since last summer, which was alright. It actually went by pretty fast… Ok that’s about it. More to come of course, in like a week…
Pamplona, Spain…
Posted by: in Blogger on April 5th, 2006
There are so many stupid comercials out there, that coming across one that I really like is amazing. First the bad ones… the ones I can’t stand… so much so that I change the channel when one of them come on.
This list isn’t complete…
1. the CIBC Financial Health Check commercials…
– there’s something about that nub standing outside the bank asking people if they’ve had their “health check” thaat just annoyed me.. “and… and…” ooh I wanna slap him.
2. ALL BAD BOY COMMERCIALS
– this one I don’t want to slap, I just wanna shoot him… the guy who says “noooooboody” on the commercials. oh man it’s annoying just to think about it. I think the guy is mel lastman’s brother.. they certainly look alike. mel lastman annoyed me too anyway (former mayor of toronto). On the same note, the United Furniture Warehouse commercials are equally annoying… more because of their stupid jingle… united furniture ware house… bomp bomp.
3. Kellogs All-Bran crap…
– for this one, it’s the writer that needs to be shot. as if he (or she) had the creativity of a rock, and the comerical was entirely this… (paraphrased of courswe) “which one are you going to choose for break fast… kellogs all-bran buds (?), or kellogs all-bran buds (?)… next time, make sure you choose kellogs all-bran buds, instead” and it has identical guys sitting in identical chairs and tables, eating kellogs all bran cereal.. bleh. *slap*
This is just a start of course… it’s just sad…
Anyway, on to the good commercials… well I really need to run, so I’m not gonna talk about too many… but anyway, my all time favourite commercial has to be this one beer commercial… I already forgot what the brand is, but basically, it shows this one guy has his finger out and yelling at some guy in some language… it cycles through the same scene, but in different bars and with different guys speaking different languages (the funniest is the japanese one. LOL) util it finally reaches the “Australian one”… then we find out what it’s all about. the second guy (not the one with the finger out) says to the other guy… “look mate, I’m not gonna pull your finger” LOL.
Hmph. It’s so funny, I’m gonna go find it in youtube right now. LOL.
Oh yeah, youtube is down right now. Meh. I’ll put it up later.
Uhm. When I got back on Monday, I… yah pretty much slept the weekend off. it was actually pretty tiring. Tuesday, I was working on my Religion paper, but I decided I couldn’t it finished by that night (that’s when the HD box came, right, and I was working on it a bit)… So I’m going to be working on that tonight, and hand it in, hopefully no mroe than 2 days late.
That’s about it.
Yet again!

Whooo.. So I just came from Old Navy and wow… yeah all exactly the same clothes and stuff, exscept CHEAPER! That is, with the exchange rate right now… Oh and of course my discounts.
We went through Manhattan today, which was pretty cool… lunch at the Rockerfeller Centre… took a tour bus around.. I bought a picture of the United Nations, my “future workplace”. Anyway. It was an alright day…
I love Banana Republic!
Posted by: in Blogger on April 2nd, 2006
Uhh.. Ahh. Sick. Yeah. I love banana republic… At least the outlet stores.. Ok I think I mentioned this a while back already. But yeah… I have that 30% all-store discount right… on 5 items from any of the Gap-brand stores. Amazingly, that includes the outlet stores here in the US. So yeah. I was at some outlet mall outside of New York… Oh yeah, I’m in New York now, here to see my cousin and my aunt…
Anway, I went to the Banana Republic outlet, where I bought 2 shirts, one black long sleeve for orchestra, and this really nice brown short-sleeve button up. The fabric is soo nice… Man I wish I had more time to buy more clothes.
Bleh.. short story long… I mean… yeah. discounts on discounts… for good clothes that are only 1 year off season… meh.
