Mode Change…

Well, there’s still 2-weeks (technically, 3… since I’m still on the first day of the 5th week…) left in Camp, but I’ve definately switched to my “school” mode. And there’s still a ton of things to do before school even starts (the 11th of September, I believe). Actually, more than just a ton of things to do, there’s actually a good chance that I still have 4 weeks of camp left, instead of 2.

That’s cause I’m still slated to run a Music Camp down at Main Square Community Centre in the South District after camps here in the East District end. It’ll actually be REALLY amazing if I get it, cause it’s an increase in pay – not to mention 80 more hours of work – that is, like an extra $1000 in pay. But yeah, though it is a change, I’m still pretty worn out. I’ll find out by next week or so if they have enough registered to continue the camp…

But anyway, I’m really in the school mode right now, cause I chose my courses right. And as I mentioned before, I’m pretty excited cause I pretty much got all the courses I wanted to get. I’m even considering buying some of my course text books already. Yeah nerdy, but hey, My courses are reading-heavy, so yeah. Plus I looked at some old exams for some of my courses and they kinda scared me…

But yeah, then there’s the whole, not buying a text book until I know for sure it’ll be used thing of course, so I doubt I’ll be getting texts yet. But I’ll be going as soon as I can for sure…

Anyway, fun…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

America, you suck… you just voted out the most gorgeous girl from So You Think You Can Dance…

I think I’m in love…

Yeah I’ve got it bad for this girl… and she’s white (yeah, those who know me, know that I really prefer only Filipina girls)… hmph. LOL I don’t think I’ve ever had a big a crush on a white girl before… Anyway, problem is, this uber-wonderful girl is from TV… Allison Holker from So You Think You Can Dance.

She’s just so… pretty… And yeah, hehe, those who know me too, know that I go for pretty… you know, not hot, sexy or whatever. I like simple, and she’s totally that… LOL.

Anyway…. Enuf of that siliness. I’m finding out new things about myself all the time… like the fact that being under the kind of stress I am right now, is not good… You know about that “freshman-15″ thing… where like, new college students like, gain 15 pounds or more after their first year, cause they’re so stressed out… Well that’s not really me. See, school stress, I feel, is something that I control. So I kindof respond to it diferently…

I just work and work, to get it done… and I get headaches from staying up late so much… I don’t even eat… I can’t eat and study at the same time… In fact, I can’t eat and do much at the same time. Except watch TV. So yeah. Plus, I don’t worry so much about school stress. Cause I really know what I’m capable of, you know – I know that if I screw it up, it’s really just my fault for not having studied sooner, or harder.

The stress I’m dealing with is not like that at all… This is my “worry” stress… And really, I worry about the things I can’t control right, and yeah, there’s alot of that in my job right now. The thing is, I’m getting LOTS of sleep. So I don’t like get headaches or anything. In fact, I try to sleep alot, cause sleep is like, an escape from the worrying. But yeah. The other thing, then, is that because it’s worry stress – so I can’t really be doing anyhting, it means that I have alot of time to eat… Yeah, I’m scared.. I gotta like stop carrying money around, to stop me from going to MacDonalds or buying something stupid at the groceries… So yeah.

The thing is, all this worrying – and the fact that I had to reupload my entire blog, so I was kindoff, glancing through the pages, has got me thinking about the worry assignment that I wrote in LTS, and I’m kind of ashamed and disheartened that I’ve allowed myself to worry this much… I’m not putting my faith in Christ to “console and delight my soul” (Psalm 94:19).

Dear Lord, I know you’re big enough for whatever situation I am in. Help me in my unbelief. Amen.

Wow… Amazed.

Uhm. Yeah, so I got into US Politics. Horay! I think…

I dunno, the thing is, I’ve pretty much excited myself with the prospects of a 4-day weekend, which would have happened if I didn’t get into that class and had to take Political Theory. But yeah, yay… I guess. LOL.

Whatevs. It is a good thing for sure! I only have 1 class on Mondays and Wednesdays… And having 3 classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays would have been really stressful, I guess. Although the amazing thing is, most of my classes are so close together!

Anyway, yeah… Mondays, I have US Politics 4PM – 6PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have Medieval History 11AM-12PM and Canadian History 1PM-2PM. Wednesdays, I have American History 6PM-8PM (really excited about that…). Finally, on Thursdays, I have Introduction to International Relations 2PM-4PM.

So yeah. Things are actually going pretty well for me…

I got 4 out of my 5 first-choices. And one of the second choices I had to use (Medieval History) is something I have to take anyway, so it’s fine. I might still change it on 15-August. That’s when the enrollment controls are removed from all courses, and I can enroll in first year courses. I still need to take a 1st year history course. So I guess it’s not soo bad that I didn’t Canadian History.

I actually figured, since I have to split my courses between History and Politics anyway, that I’ll jsut do another 3-history 2-Politics year, and then maybe do like a 4-Politics 1-History year afterward, taking whatever Canadian Politics courses that I want then…

So yeah, I was just really really ticked off on Monday – so much stress. Which I can see now was really stupid of me…

Ok so yeah, here’s my timetable… Finally…

Yippeeee…

Waitlisted…

Ok. I got my excelstillmore.ca domain set up, horay! Friends, if you link to me, please change it, although right now, ichthus.ca is redirecting here, while I build up that site.

Really now… 34 people aren’t gonna drop out of POL203 (US Politics)… I swear, this wait list deal is pretty uselesss – unless you’re like 1-5 on the list. But, I persevere, and hope that I get into the course – lest I have to take it next year instead. Actually, now that I think about it, I don’t think it’s so bad that I have to take it next year instead, cause I don’t even really plan to take any higher courses that have to do with US Politics – most of my 300+ level PoliSci courses are either International Studies or Canadian Politics… except of course. I WANNA TAKE US POLITICS! GRRR…

Oh and that actually brings up one other really dumb thing about the Political Science department at UofT… practically all the frickin courses are open to everyone. Which means that what happened to me… well… happens at all… that is, that I don’t get into a pretty important course that I need to take – POL214, Canadian Politics. Ok so half the friggin’ 300+ level courses have POL214 as a prerequisite. So what do they expect me to do now? I’ll have to take it in Summer School for sure… But frig. I can’t handle that…

Anyway, I’m just agitated… like I’ve been most of the day… I am thankful I got into POL208, International Relations. Not getting into that *really* would have screwed me over. Plus, I got into all of the History Courses I wanted. Actually more than that, cause when I dropped POL214 from my waitlist, I took HIS220 (Medieval Society), which I think will be a really cool course.

Oh yeah, actually I didn’t get into one History Course I wanted to get into… my backup in case I needed more courses – HIS343 (Modern Espionage), but I understand that, cause it’s a 300 level course, and it was probably already full even before our course selection started… OOohhhh.. I really wanted to take that course… But yeah, next year.

Here it is….

HIS220Y1 Y – Mediaeval Society
HIS263Y1 Y – Intro to Can History
HIS271Y1 Y – Amer Hist Since 1607
POL208Y1 Y – Introduction to I.R.

(Wait List)
POL203Y1 Y – US Govt & Politics

As it stands, I only get Fridays off, unless I don’t get into POL208, which means I need to take POL200. Which means all my courses are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday… so yeah actually that’s pretty cool… 4 day weekends. LOL. But yeah, I’d give up a 4-day weekend if it means being able to take US Politics. :D

Excel Still More is an expression that has a lot of meaning in my life…

During my two years at Capernwray Harbour Bible Centre, I really felt God moving in my life, transforming me into what He wants me to be. The message at Capernwray was simple – and that is to consider Jesus in all aspects of my life.

At the end of both years – in fact, I believe they do this at the end of every year, the last books of the Bible that are taught are 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, which is where the expression comes from…Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more. 1 Thessalonians 4:1.

To me, the phrase is really fitting in the Christian Life as we realize that God is continually at work in our lives. And to excel still more does not have anything to do with what we can do ourselves – for excelence in the Christian lives is measured by how much Christ shows in your life. So “Excel Still More” is this, that we continue to lay all of who we are at the feet of Jesus Christ, that He may do His work in our lives…

Setup…

Wow. Ok things are moving fast. I registered excelstillmore.ca, which will now be the domain for this blog… At the moment all it’s doing is redirecting to ichthus.ca, which will still hold the blog for a little while, until I figure out how to manage these two domains…

All of my friends who link to me, please change the links to http://excelstillmore.ca. I’ll be emailing this around too…

I’m going to start playing around with all of the features that cPanel gives me, but chances are, I won’t be able to really work on my new vision for ichthus.ca until after my work with the city ends… and then, it might a while – a few months at least, to get everything set up.

Oohh.. so excited. Hehe. And I can’t believe this is only costing about $70 bucks a year.

Restored

My dad’s friend, Kuya Joey, came and took a look at my laptop, and horay, it’s fixed… So the issues were that my CD Drive wouldn’t read some CDs, my Card Reader wouldn’t read my wireless card, and half my RAM was missing…

Well it turns out that the half of the RAM that was missing was the problem… it was shorting out the board on that side (the side with the Card Reader and the CD Drive), so we had to take out that RAM chip. So I’m still left with only 256mb of RAM right now, but my CD Drive and Card Reader works again… which means, I’m actully mobile again.

No matter though, I should have a new laptop soon.. could be as soon as a coupla weeks, but for sure before school starts again…

I’m too lazy right now to do any serious political writing, even though there’s so much to write about at the moment. Maybe later…

Hmph…

Ok. Edison Force SUCKS. And there’s only 1 reason why: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. OMG Why would they ruin an otherwise good movie by casting him………….

I know I should stick to one topic…

But there’s so much to say…

1. Long and McQuade is FREAKING AMAZING! I paid $57 today to rent a smoke machine and a “moving light”. Really cool… our play this week is gonna be sick!

2. I bought “A Collision” today. They didn’t have any Chris Rice CDs at Blessings… I really enjoy it, it’s a really cool CD. I was driving home, so I couldn’t really pay close attention to the songs yet, but I liked Here is Our King. Unfortunately, my CD Drive is acting up again, so I can’t rip it to my computer, which means I can’t put it on my Mp3 Player, which means I’m gonna hardly listen to it, unless I’m in my car… But yeah, new laptop is coming sooon.

3. On that note. PAY DAY TOMMOROW! Horay. I’m about to get paid like… 3 times the amount of any pay cheque I’ve ever gotten from Old Navy… and it’s only for the last 2 weeks. I can finally pay my parents back for that speeding ticket a coupla weeks back.

4. Howard Moscoe is an IDIOT. He is the very personofication of the arrogant older white guy, that iritates me so much. Because of that, starting today, I’m officially going to be shifting most of my (Municipal) Political energy – writings and stuff – to making sure he doesn’t get elected… That is unless I get hired to become a DRO again of course. Then I need to refrain from such political expression until after the elections.

5. OK I’m actually watching Edison Force right now, which is already turning out to be a pretty amazing movie… What with all the guns and shooting and all… So I’ll continue this later.
