Well I had the guys over last night… actually they’re still downstairs, for my “tGif” Birthday Party… actually it’s the college guys party, because… well the high school guys obviously couldn’t come because they have school today (the party didn’t start till 10), but also because of what you will see in these videos coming up…
So as is pretty much tradition for all of the birthdays of tGif college guys (that is to say, for the ones who are old enough to drink), we take shots. It actually started with Isaac’s birthday in January. Cause when me and Josh came of age, I was away… I dunno if they did shots or not, but meh. So for Isaac’s birthday, Josh bought Bacardi 151 and Khalua which we used to make a better-left-unnamed-drink… if you know the name of this drink you know why I don’t name it here. So yeah. We mix these two drinks and light it on fire.
Julius’ birthday we didn’t do em, cause Jules is one of the guys who doesn’t drink. Then Josh’s birthday, we went a different direction… he chose some kind of girly drinks.. LOL. Peach shnaps, and stuff. LOL. Then James’ birthday. Then now my birthday. Oh and of course we had a few in between too. So yeah, here’s the story of my Birthday Shots… it’s 5-parts, which I suggest watching in sequence.
This is our favoured drink for such occassions. It’s made by mixing Bacardi 151 proof rum (75% alcohol) and Khalua. Then you light it on fire, and stick a straw in to drink… Fun right! But wait… It comes for my turn to do it… LOL Notice James was struggling a little with the matches there, huh.
NUB ISAAC! Way to spill my drink… The reason why he was lighting mine, cause I lit his, then everyone else wanted light their own, so then he felt left out so he had to light at least one drink… but… yah nub…
But of course we wouldn’t be tGif if we didn’t do something stupid to compensate for the situation…
So those 4 were the last ones I could make out of what’s left of the alcohol (there was no rum left), so I had to settle for Tequila. Which isn’t so bad. But you know, you gotta drink Tequila with other people. That and this Tequila was a souvenir thing that Kat gave me as a thank you for playing at her wedding… But meh, I needed a drink so bottoms up…
The of course, as I said before, we wouldn’t be tGif if we didn’t continue doing stupid things… we actually used the residue from the other drinks to light this napkin on fire… LOL it looks so cool, see where the flame is blue, that’s where it’s still alcohol burning. It’s clean, and no smoke right. But then when the paper started burning (they yellow flame) it started to smoke up… so, this being after midnight already, I didn’t want to set off the fire alarm, so I just put it out.
I feel the need at this point to put a little disclaimer down. First of all we are Christians, and take it seriously. We’re not alcoholics, like some people might like to think (who knows us, or like to joke about us), just because we like to celebrate special occasions like this with alcohol.. We have… not rules, but we do have some really strict guidelines that we follow, and of course we have each other to keep each other in check to make sure that none of us gets drunk. Which is the sin… drunkeness is sin. drinking isn’t. Wine was a more common drink in Jesus’ time than water. So yeah, one example of this is that we make sure that we don’t get drunk by making sure we drink lots of water in between drinks of alcohol. And, we make sure that we’ve had plenty to eat before we drink… these two things we’ve found really accelerates the alcohol rushing through your body… being hundry, and not having anything to drink. I’m not saying we’ve never been drunk before. But we’ve used those experiences to our lessons, and now we have what I can honestly say, a healthy drinking habit.. If you’ll note too, if you know us, Josh didn’t take any drinks. This is because he’s on contract with his Bible School not to have any alcohol while he was attending school (summers are ok for sure, and Christmas… I think).
Anyway, that having said, I make no apologies for anyone out there who may be offended by this and who may think that ooohh…. a “so called” Christian blog is no place for this stuff. No. yah I disagree. Christians can have fun, and I like to think that Christians like us who can show that we can have fun without taking it too far… being in the world but not of the world… do more for the perception of Christianity than those hardnosed teetotalers… Which again shows the diversity we have in our group, cause we do have guys in our group who just have no desire to drink… Jules and Eman, of course. But they’re not like judgemental of us cause we drink.
So yes. Just keep that in mind. This is just for fun… Horah, I’m 21.
